Aerosol droplets
Several studies conducted abroad have found that aerosol droplets emitted by humans can remain in unventilated areas for several minutes. Especially when they have just the right size, the droplets will stay in the air for a long time, resulting in a high risk for spreading the virus.
It is assumed that one of the root causes of spreading the COVID-19 virus are small aerosol droplets from infected persons, especially when emitted in badly ventilated areas. Over the last year, we have seen a significant amount of research done on how these droplets are spread. Of course, insights in the spread will consequently allow us to create more effective countermeasures to the virus.
